Carnation Flower - No glue, no wire

Since Mother's Day is just around the corner, I thought why not crochet some flowers. This carnation is make using 5 ply yarn and 2.5 mm hook. It is very easy to make and I choose not to use glue or wire. Glue sometime can be messy if we are not careful. You can still glue the sepal on to the flower, if you wish. And if you are going to add wire, make sure you add the wire first before apply glue.

Here is the tutorial video :

Flower.

1) make a magic ring, chain (ch) 3, double crochet (dc) 15 into the ring and joint with slip stitch.
2) ch 3, 2 dc in each stitch for the next 15 stitches and joint with a slip stitch.
3) ch4, 3 triple crochet in each stitch and joint with a slip stitch.
4) ch4, joint to the next stitch with a slip stitch, continue the pattern till the end.
5) put thru a separate yarn onto the 2nd row, with a needle, sew it loosely between 2 dc on the 2nd row and later pull tight to form the flower.

Sepal.

1) make a magic ring, ch1, 6 sc and end with a slip stitch.
2) ch 1, sc all around and end with a slip stitch.
3) ch 1, 2 sc in each and end with a slip stitch.
4) ch 1, sc all around and end with a slip stitch.
5) ch 4, sc on the next 3 stitches on the chain 4 starting with the 2nd stitch from hook and joint it to the next stitch with a slip stich.

Joint the flower to the sepal either by sewing or glue. Hope you like this pattern and don't forget to subscribe to my Youtube channel. I will be making another video soon, planting or should I say crochet those flowers into a crochet round pot. Stay tune.

Peony Flower

This is a big flower compare to the other crochet flowers. You will need cotton yarn, wire and some flower making green tape. I also added a chop stick, or you can use any wood or metal, to hold the flower as it is quite heavy with so many petals and wire. I used 3 different colors for the whole flower. The tutorial video :   The Core Part (use yellow yarn) 1) Chain 9, do 3 single crochet (sc) in the 2nd stitch from the hook, sc in the next, slip stitch (ss) until the end, which you will have 6 ss all in. Chain 9 and repeat the whole thing, all in 8 sets. 2) Chain 10, 3 sc in the 2nd stitch from hook. Sc in the next and ss in the following stitches until the end of the chain, all in 7 ss. Make 9 sets. 3) Chain 11, 3 sc in the 2nd stitch from the hook. Sc in the next and ss in the following stitches until the end of the chain, all in 8 ss. Make 10 sets. 4) Chain 1, do sc on the next 27 stitches on the base. 5) Chain 1, turn the work, [sc in the next 2, do a 2 together (dec)] - 6 sets,

Crochet Mooncake

This is my second crochet mooncake. This pattern is different from my first crochet mooncake. I made two version. One with lace yarn and a 2 mm hook and another with cotton yarn and a 3 mm hook. The lace yarn mooncake is smaller than the cotton yarn mooncake due to the size of the yarn and hook yet both are equally lovely and look quite like the real thing. The tutorial video :  Mooncake (make 2 - top piece and bottom piece) 1) Start with a magic ring. Make 8 single crochet (sc) into the ring     [total 8] 2) Make 2 sc into each stitch (inc)     [total 16] 3) (Sc, inc) - 8X only on the back loop     [total 24] - If bottom piece, no need back loop only 4) (Sc, inc, sc) - 8X     [total 37] 5) (Sc next 3, inc) - 8X  only on the back loop     [total 40] - If bottom piece, no need back loop only 6) (Sc next 2, inc, sc next 2) - 8X     [total 48] 7) (Sc, half double crochet (hdc) next 2, 2 double crochet (dc) in the same stitch, hdc next 2, sc, slip stitch) - 6X After complete the top piece,
