Ketupat Plush Toy / Decoration (Tunisian Stitch)

This decorative Ketupat is crochet with 5 ply yarn and 4 mm hook using the Tunisian stitches. The lines of the Tunisian stitch makes it look more like a real Ketupat that was weaved with leaves. The one I made was as big as my palm and if you wish to make a smaller one, use 3 ply yarn and smaller hook.

Here is the tutorial video :

We start by crocheting the lighter colour yarn for box 1. Chain 7, 2nd chain from hook, we yarn over and leave yarn on hook and do the same to all the 7 chain. The last one on the hook we yarn over and put thru 1 yarn, then put thru 2, and 2 and 2 until the end of the line.

On row 2, we put hook thru the vertical line from row 1, yarn over and leave yarn on hook. Continue until the end of the row. The last one, we yarn over and put thru 1, then put thru 2, and 2 and 2 until you have completed the whole row.

Continue in the same manner for 5 rows, all in. After the 5th row, we put hook thru the vertical line on the row below it and do a slip stitch this time. Continue to put hook thru the next vertical line and do a slip stitch. Do the same for the whole row.

Cut the yarn and start making box 2 with a darker colour yarn. Make a knot and joined the knot to a corner of the 1st box. Chain 6 and continue the Tunisian stitch. When we reach the end of each row, make one stitch to box 1 to join them together. Do the same on each row. At the end do slip stitches and join to box 1 and start a new box on top of box 1.

For the top corner loop that we make for hanging (optional), we make 18 rows of Tunisian stitches. As for the 2 tail, we do 7 rows of Tunisian stitches and then chain 4, slip stitch on the 2nd stitch from hook, follow by a single crochet on the 3rd stitch and a half double crochet on the 4th stitch. Joined to the 3rd vertical line on previous row. Do a chain 4 again and a slip stitch on the 2nd stitch from hook, a single crochet on the 3rd stitch and a half double crochet on the 4th stitch.

Sew it up and don't forget to add filling before completely sewing it all together. Hope my video had helped you make lovely ketupats. Don't forget to subscribe to my Youtube channel and follow me on FacebookShopee, Instagram and Tiktok. Thank you.

Peony Flower

This is a big flower compare to the other crochet flowers. You will need cotton yarn, wire and some flower making green tape. I also added a chop stick, or you can use any wood or metal, to hold the flower as it is quite heavy with so many petals and wire. I used 3 different colors for the whole flower. The tutorial video :   The Core Part (use yellow yarn) 1) Chain 9, do 3 single crochet (sc) in the 2nd stitch from the hook, sc in the next, slip stitch (ss) until the end, which you will have 6 ss all in. Chain 9 and repeat the whole thing, all in 8 sets. 2) Chain 10, 3 sc in the 2nd stitch from hook. Sc in the next and ss in the following stitches until the end of the chain, all in 7 ss. Make 9 sets. 3) Chain 11, 3 sc in the 2nd stitch from the hook. Sc in the next and ss in the following stitches until the end of the chain, all in 8 ss. Make 10 sets. 4) Chain 1, do sc on the next 27 stitches on the base. 5) Chain 1, turn the work, [sc in the next 2, do a 2 together (dec)] - 6 sets,

Tiny Top Hat

This Top Hat is tiny enough for my amigurumi. Preferable black in color but for tutorial video sake, I did a brown one too. I used cotton yarn and a 3 mm hook. It is very easy to make.  The tutorial video : Top Hat 1) Magic ring with 6 single crochet (sc) into ring [total 6] 2) 2 sc in each, all around [total 12] 3) (Sc in next 3, 2 sc in next stitch) repeat all around [total 15] 4) Sc all around (only on back loop) [total 15] 5) - 8) Sc all around [total 15] 9) 2 sc in each stitch, all around the front loop only [total 30] You can cut yarn now, either you leave a long tail for sewing or weave in the tail.  Hope you make lovely hats for your amigurumi. Crochet Mooncake

This is my second crochet mooncake. This pattern is different from my first crochet mooncake. I made two version. One with lace yarn and a 2 mm hook and another with cotton yarn and a 3 mm hook. The lace yarn mooncake is smaller than the cotton yarn mooncake due to the size of the yarn and hook yet both are equally lovely and look quite like the real thing. The tutorial video :  Mooncake (make 2 - top piece and bottom piece) 1) Start with a magic ring. Make 8 single crochet (sc) into the ring     [total 8] 2) Make 2 sc into each stitch (inc)     [total 16] 3) (Sc, inc) - 8X only on the back loop     [total 24] - If bottom piece, no need back loop only 4) (Sc, inc, sc) - 8X     [total 37] 5) (Sc next 3, inc) - 8X  only on the back loop     [total 40] - If bottom piece, no need back loop only 6) (Sc next 2, inc, sc next 2) - 8X     [total 48] 7) (Sc, half double crochet (hdc) next 2, 2 double crochet (dc) in the same stitch, hdc next 2, sc, slip stitch) - 6X After complete the top piece,
