Simple Dinner Bag in bean stitch

This is a simple dinner bag made using polypropylene yarn. You can also use nylon or cotton yarn too, if you wish. I added a plastic canvas and covered it with linen inside. It is a simple hand carry dinner bag. You can make it bigger or smaller so long the rule is the number or foundation chain is in the multiple of 4 plus 3.

The tutorial video :

Make a foundation chain up to the length that you want, which has to be in a multiple of 4 and then add 3 more chain. I did chain 28 plus 3. Then yarn over and do a double crochet on the 5th chain from hook. Yarn over into the space created with the double crochet. Yarn over 3 times and leave it on the hook, pull thru all to create one bean stitch.

Skip one stitch from the foundation chain and yarn over and do another double crochet. Do another double crochet on the next stitch. Do a bean stitch inside the space between the 2 double crochet. Continue the same manner until the end.

For a new row, chain 3 and turn and do the same manner to build those bean stitches.

Once you have reach your desire length and width, do single crochet all around the sides. Make sure to do 2 single crochet in the same stitch at each corner. Do one more round of single crochet all around. Crochet or use a needle and stitch the plastic canvas onto the pattern. Lastly, sew a linen inside to cover the plastic canvas. As for the sides of the bag, I use a needle and sew criss-cross.

Peony Flower

This is a big flower compare to the other crochet flowers. You will need cotton yarn, wire and some flower making green tape. I also added a chop stick, or you can use any wood or metal, to hold the flower as it is quite heavy with so many petals and wire. I used 3 different colors for the whole flower. The tutorial video :   The Core Part (use yellow yarn) 1) Chain 9, do 3 single crochet (sc) in the 2nd stitch from the hook, sc in the next, slip stitch (ss) until the end, which you will have 6 ss all in. Chain 9 and repeat the whole thing, all in 8 sets. 2) Chain 10, 3 sc in the 2nd stitch from hook. Sc in the next and ss in the following stitches until the end of the chain, all in 7 ss. Make 9 sets. 3) Chain 11, 3 sc in the 2nd stitch from the hook. Sc in the next and ss in the following stitches until the end of the chain, all in 8 ss. Make 10 sets. 4) Chain 1, do sc on the next 27 stitches on the base. 5) Chain 1, turn the work, [sc in the next 2, do a 2 together (dec)] - 6 sets,

Tiny Top Hat

This Top Hat is tiny enough for my amigurumi. Preferable black in color but for tutorial video sake, I did a brown one too. I used cotton yarn and a 3 mm hook. It is very easy to make.  The tutorial video : Top Hat 1) Magic ring with 6 single crochet (sc) into ring [total 6] 2) 2 sc in each, all around [total 12] 3) (Sc in next 3, 2 sc in next stitch) repeat all around [total 15] 4) Sc all around (only on back loop) [total 15] 5) - 8) Sc all around [total 15] 9) 2 sc in each stitch, all around the front loop only [total 30] You can cut yarn now, either you leave a long tail for sewing or weave in the tail.  Hope you make lovely hats for your amigurumi. Crochet Mooncake

This is my second crochet mooncake. This pattern is different from my first crochet mooncake. I made two version. One with lace yarn and a 2 mm hook and another with cotton yarn and a 3 mm hook. The lace yarn mooncake is smaller than the cotton yarn mooncake due to the size of the yarn and hook yet both are equally lovely and look quite like the real thing. The tutorial video :  Mooncake (make 2 - top piece and bottom piece) 1) Start with a magic ring. Make 8 single crochet (sc) into the ring     [total 8] 2) Make 2 sc into each stitch (inc)     [total 16] 3) (Sc, inc) - 8X only on the back loop     [total 24] - If bottom piece, no need back loop only 4) (Sc, inc, sc) - 8X     [total 37] 5) (Sc next 3, inc) - 8X  only on the back loop     [total 40] - If bottom piece, no need back loop only 6) (Sc next 2, inc, sc next 2) - 8X     [total 48] 7) (Sc, half double crochet (hdc) next 2, 2 double crochet (dc) in the same stitch, hdc next 2, sc, slip stitch) - 6X After complete the top piece,
