Tear Drop Hanging Basket

This tear drop / water drop hanging basket are made with t-shirt yarn using a 6mm hook. You can use these basket to store small stationaries or even place a pot in it. You can customized one to fit your pot or the things that you want to put in it. If you have extra yarn and not sure what to do with it, give this  a try.

The tutorial video :

Basket

1) magic ring, 6 single crochet (sc) into ring

2) 2 sc in each (increase)

3) [sc, increase] - repeat all around

If you want to make a bigger basket, do increase in the next few rows (e.g [sc in next 2, inc] - repeat all around, and the following row [sc in the next 3, inc] - repeat all around) or using a smaller hook or bigger hook will change it size too.

4) 3 sc in one (place a maker in the middle stitch - 2nd stitch) and sc all around.

5) when reach the marker, 3 sc in one and the rest sc all around.

Continue in this manner until you come to your desire width and height.

Chain 10 or more at the 3sc spot and joint back in the next stitch to make a hook or hole for hanging. After the chain 10 had joint to the basket continue to do sc to about a quarter of the way, do a decrease, that is sc follow by a decrease (which is a 2 together stitch), do 6 sets.

The last part would be sc all around. The hook part remember to sc around it a few time to make it thicker so that it could hold the weight of what ever you plan to put in it.

Peony Flower

This is a big flower compare to the other crochet flowers. You will need cotton yarn, wire and some flower making green tape. I also added a chop stick, or you can use any wood or metal, to hold the flower as it is quite heavy with so many petals and wire. I used 3 different colors for the whole flower. The tutorial video :   The Core Part (use yellow yarn) 1) Chain 9, do 3 single crochet (sc) in the 2nd stitch from the hook, sc in the next, slip stitch (ss) until the end, which you will have 6 ss all in. Chain 9 and repeat the whole thing, all in 8 sets. 2) Chain 10, 3 sc in the 2nd stitch from hook. Sc in the next and ss in the following stitches until the end of the chain, all in 7 ss. Make 9 sets. 3) Chain 11, 3 sc in the 2nd stitch from the hook. Sc in the next and ss in the following stitches until the end of the chain, all in 8 ss. Make 10 sets. 4) Chain 1, do sc on the next 27 stitches on the base. 5) Chain 1, turn the work, [sc in the next 2, do a 2 together (dec)] - 6 sets,

Crochet Mooncake

This is my second crochet mooncake. This pattern is different from my first crochet mooncake. I made two version. One with lace yarn and a 2 mm hook and another with cotton yarn and a 3 mm hook. The lace yarn mooncake is smaller than the cotton yarn mooncake due to the size of the yarn and hook yet both are equally lovely and look quite like the real thing. The tutorial video :  Mooncake (make 2 - top piece and bottom piece) 1) Start with a magic ring. Make 8 single crochet (sc) into the ring     [total 8] 2) Make 2 sc into each stitch (inc)     [total 16] 3) (Sc, inc) - 8X only on the back loop     [total 24] - If bottom piece, no need back loop only 4) (Sc, inc, sc) - 8X     [total 37] 5) (Sc next 3, inc) - 8X  only on the back loop     [total 40] - If bottom piece, no need back loop only 6) (Sc next 2, inc, sc next 2) - 8X     [total 48] 7) (Sc, half double crochet (hdc) next 2, 2 double crochet (dc) in the same stitch, hdc next 2, sc, slip stitch) - 6X After complete the top piece,
