Small Roses

 Sometime we do need to make small flowers for our amigurumi or bag or baby shoes or even head band. So here I have some small roses. 


The tutorial video : 






The foundation chain should be in multiple of 10 and a plus 1. The smallest flower would be chain 10 + 1. For the medium size rose, you can try chain 20 + 1 and for a large rose, you can go for a chain 50 +1.

After the foundation chain, do a single crochet on the 2nd stitch from hook. Chain 2 and skip one stitch. Do a single crochet on the following stitch. So it is a sc and skip and sc and skip all the way until the end of the row.

Next row, chain 2, turn the work, do a slip stitch into the chain 2 space. Chain 1, do 4 double crochet into the same space follow by a chain 1 and slip stitch into the same space. That makes one petal.

Now slip stitch into the next chain 2 space and do a slip stitch and repeat the above to make another petal.

I also added a chop stick, or you can use any wood or metal, to hold the flower as it is quite heavy with so many petals and wire. I used 3 different colors for the whole flower. Tiny Top Hat

 This Top Hat is tiny enough for my amigurumi. Preferable black in color but for tutorial video sake, I did a brown one too. I used cotton yarn and a 3 mm hook. It is very easy to make.  The tutorial video : Top Hat 1) Magic ring with 6 single crochet (sc) into ring [total 6] 2) 2 sc in each, all around [total 12] 3) (Sc in next 3, 2 sc in next stitch) repeat all around [total 15] 4) Sc all around (only on back loop) [total 15] 5) - 8) Sc all around [total 15] 9) 2 sc in each stitch, all around the front loop only [total 30] You can cut yarn now, either you leave a long tail for sewing or weave in the tail.  Hope you make lovely hats for your amigurumi. Crochet Mooncake

This is my second crochet mooncake. This pattern is different from my first crochet mooncake. I made two version. One with lace yarn and a 2 mm hook and another with cotton yarn and a 3 mm hook. The lace yarn mooncake is smaller than the cotton yarn mooncake due to the size of the yarn and hook yet both are equally lovely and look quite like the real thing. The tutorial video :  Mooncake (make 2 - top piece and bottom piece) 1) Start with a magic ring.
