Baby Sneaker

 This is made using cotton yarn and silk cotton yarn. The white sole is 5 ply cotton yarn and the colorful top part is silk cotton yarn. The white shoe sole is crochet with a 3 mm hook while the top of the shoe is crochet with a 3.5 mm hook. The shoe lace you can use either 3 or 3.5 mm hook.

This pattern is for baby about 6 months old. If you use a smaller hook and more fine yarn, the shoe will be slightly smaller even with the same pattern. If you use a bigger hook, the shoe will be bigger too.

The Shoe Sole (White) (3 mm hook)

1) Chain (ch) 19, 2 Single crochet (sc) on the 2nd stitch from hook and add a marker on the 1st stitch. Sc next 16 (add a marker on the 1st and the 16th stitch). 4 sc in the next. Sc in the next 16 (add a marker on the 1st and the 16th stitch). 2 sc on the stitch with the marker. [both corner have 4 sc in same stitch] then joint with a slip stitch (sl st) to the stitch with a marker.

2) Ch 1, 2 sc in next 2, add a marker on the 1st stitch. Sc in the next 16, (add marker on the 1st and 16th stitch). At the turning point, make 4 increase (2 sc in the same stitch) on the remaining 4 stitch. Sc in the next 16 (add markers). Inc in the next 2 and sl st to the marker.

3) Ch 1, sc on the maker (add a marker), inc, sc, inc, sc in the next 16 (add marker). At the corner, inc, sc, inc, sc next 2, inc, sc, inc, sc next 16 (add marker). Inc, sc, inc, sc and sl st to the marker.

4) Ch 1, sc on the marker and on the next, inc, sc next 2, inc, sc next 8, half double crochet (hdc) next 2, double crochet (dc) next 6, dc inc, dc, dc inc, dc, dc inc next 4, dc, dc inc, dc, dc inc, dc next 6, hdc next 2, sc next 8, inc, sc next 2, inc, sc next 2 and sl st to the marker.

5) Sc all around [total 68 stitches] and joint with sl st. You can make another round of sc all around if you want a bigger shoe.


The shoe top ( 2 rows white and the rest another color) (3.5 mm hook)

1) Sc all around on the back loop only. Then do 3 more rows of sc all around (on both loops). Add marker on the first stitch. Cut the yarn at the end of all 4 rows.

2) Fold the shoe in 2 and get the mid point. The front of the shoe, from the mid point count 10 to the left and ten to the right. Once you get 20 stitches, add a marker on both ends of the 20 stitches. Still using white yarn, start from the next stitch from the marker. Ch 2, dc in next, dc 2 together (decrease) in next 8 (until reach the stitch before marker). 

3) Ch 1, turn the work, sc till the end [ total 9 sc].

4) Ch 2, turn the work, do a dc 8 together, ch 1, tighten it and pull the yarn, make the loop big enough for the ball of yarn to go over then pull tight, like tie a knot.

5) Put hook at marker stitch and pull the yarn over, not too tight. Sc next 5 and will reach the middle of the dc 8 together. Skip that middle and do sc next 5 and skip that stitch next to the marker and sl st to the marker stitch. Tighten it and cut. 

6) Change to color yarn. Start from the 2nd stitch from where we sl st. Ch 3, dc dec, dc next 41, dc dec, triple crochet (tc). Turn the work.

7) Sl st to the top of the previous dc dec. Sc, ch 2, dc dec, dc next 12, dc dec, dc next 7, dc dec, dc next 12, dc dec, tc. Turn the work.

8) Sc on top of previous dc dec, ch 2, dc dec, dc next 14, dc dec, dc next 13, dc dec, tc. Turn the work.

9) Sc on top of previous dc dec, ch 2, dc dec, dc next 24, dc dec, tc. Turn the work.

10) Sc on top of previous dc dec, ch 2, dc next 24, tc. Turn the work.

11) Sc next 24, ch 1. Turn the work.

12) Do 3 sc in the space [all in there are 5 space]. Sc inc, sc next 22, sc inc, 3 sc into each space [ all in 5 space]. 

13) Remove hook and place hook on the 2nd stitch from where we stop and pull the yarn over. Now we will work on the front of the shoe with this color yarn. Ch 3, dc inc next 2, dc next 6, dc inc next 2, dc.

14) Turn the work. Ch 3, dc next 15. Repeat another 4 more rows. All in the front of the shoe has 7 rows of the color yarn. 

15) On the 8th row, ch 3, dc dec, dc next 10, dc dec, dc.

16) Ch 2, dc dec, dc next 8, dc dec, ch 2, sl st, ch 1, pull ttight and cut yarn.


Shoe Lace

Ch 200, 2nd stitch from hook start sl st all the way till the end. Get a darker color yarn and sew 2 lines on the lower part of the shoe to make it look more like a sneaker. Refer to tutorial video for more details.

Tiny Top Hat

 This Top Hat is tiny enough for my amigurumi. Preferable black in color but for tutorial video sake, I did a brown one too. I used cotton yarn and a 3 mm hook. It is very easy to make.  The tutorial video : Top Hat 1) Magic ring with 6 single crochet (sc) into ring [total 6] 2) 2 sc in each, all around [total 12] 3) (Sc in next 3, 2 sc in next stitch) repeat all around [total 15] 4) Sc all around (only on back loop) [total 15] 5) - 8) Sc all around [total 15] 9) 2 sc in each stitch, all around the front loop only [total 30] You can cut yarn now, either you leave a long tail for sewing or weave in the tail.  Hope you make lovely hats for your amigurumi. Crochet Mooncake

This is my second crochet mooncake. This pattern is different from my first crochet mooncake. I made two version. One with lace yarn and a 2 mm hook and another with cotton yarn and a 3 mm hook. The lace yarn mooncake is smaller than the cotton yarn mooncake due to the size of the yarn and hook yet both are equally lovely and look quite like the real thing.
