Star Stitch Clutch Bag

This is a simple dinner bag with star stitch. I used nylon yarn and a 4 mm hook. I also sew a plastic canvas and cloth linen inside the bag. It is very easy once you get the hang of it. I have a short tutorial video on star stitch that you can refer to if you are not sure how it is done. With the rough guide, you can create a simple clutch bag.

The tutorial video :

The number of chain is in a multiple of 2 plus 4. This particular bag, I crochet the length instead of the normally, width and work upwards. You can start from the width and work your way up. The lines of stars will be horizontal while mine, the stars are vertically.

Start by making a foundation chain to the length that you want. Make sure the number of stitches are in even numbers. Start from the 2nd chain from hook, yarn over and pull up a loop and leave it on the hook. Do 4 more in the next 4 stitch until you have 6 loop on you hook. Yarn over and pull thru all 6 and do a single crochet.

After the single crochet, you will notice a hole which we refer to the eye of the star. The 2nd star, yarn over in the eye of the star, yarn over in the last stitch of the previous star, the top part. Then yarn over at the bottom part of the same stitch. Yarn over in the next 2 stitch from the foundation chain. By now you will have 6 loop on your hook. Yarn over and pull thru all and do a single crochet. Repeat the same till the end of the row. End it with a half double crochet on the same last stitch of the last star.

Chain 1, turn the work. Make a single crochet on top of the previous half double crochet. Make another single crochet in the eye of the 1st star. The following stars, make 2 single crochet in each eye. Repeat till the end of the row and do a single crochet on the last stitch of the last star.

Chain 2, turn the work. Yarn over on the 2nd stitch from hook, only on the front loop. Yarn over on the 2nd stitch from hook, this time on the back loop. Yarn over from the following next 3 stitch. All in will have 6 loop on hook now and the 6th loop should be above the eye of the previous star. Repeat the star stitch until the end of the row and end it with a half double crochet.

Repeat the above until you have the length that you want. If you want to know how I change color, refer to the tutorial video. Cut the plastic canvas slightly smaller than the piece that you had just crochet. You can either sew it to the bag or crochet it to the bag. You can refer to the video as to how I crochet it to the bag and how I sew the linen.

Hope this give you a rough idea how to create your own simple clutch bag. Thank you for your support and do remember to subscribe to my Youtube  channel and follow me on Facebook , Shopee , Tiktok and Instagram .

Peony Flower

This is a big flower compare to the other crochet flowers. You will need cotton yarn, wire and some flower making green tape. I also added a chop stick, or you can use any wood or metal, to hold the flower as it is quite heavy with so many petals and wire. I used 3 different colors for the whole flower. The tutorial video :   The Core Part (use yellow yarn) 1) Chain 9, do 3 single crochet (sc) in the 2nd stitch from the hook, sc in the next, slip stitch (ss) until the end, which you will have 6 ss all in. Chain 9 and repeat the whole thing, all in 8 sets. 2) Chain 10, 3 sc in the 2nd stitch from hook. Sc in the next and ss in the following stitches until the end of the chain, all in 7 ss. Make 9 sets. 3) Chain 11, 3 sc in the 2nd stitch from the hook. Sc in the next and ss in the following stitches until the end of the chain, all in 8 ss. Make 10 sets. 4) Chain 1, do sc on the next 27 stitches on the base. 5) Chain 1, turn the work, [sc in the next 2, do a 2 together (dec)] - 6 sets,

Tiny Top Hat

This Top Hat is tiny enough for my amigurumi. Preferable black in color but for tutorial video sake, I did a brown one too. I used cotton yarn and a 3 mm hook. It is very easy to make.  The tutorial video : Top Hat 1) Magic ring with 6 single crochet (sc) into ring [total 6] 2) 2 sc in each, all around [total 12] 3) (Sc in next 3, 2 sc in next stitch) repeat all around [total 15] 4) Sc all around (only on back loop) [total 15] 5) - 8) Sc all around [total 15] 9) 2 sc in each stitch, all around the front loop only [total 30] You can cut yarn now, either you leave a long tail for sewing or weave in the tail.  Hope you make lovely hats for your amigurumi. Crochet Mooncake

This is my second crochet mooncake. This pattern is different from my first crochet mooncake. I made two version. One with lace yarn and a 2 mm hook and another with cotton yarn and a 3 mm hook. The lace yarn mooncake is smaller than the cotton yarn mooncake due to the size of the yarn and hook yet both are equally lovely and look quite like the real thing. The tutorial video :  Mooncake (make 2 - top piece and bottom piece) 1) Start with a magic ring. Make 8 single crochet (sc) into the ring     [total 8] 2) Make 2 sc into each stitch (inc)     [total 16] 3) (Sc, inc) - 8X only on the back loop     [total 24] - If bottom piece, no need back loop only 4) (Sc, inc, sc) - 8X     [total 37] 5) (Sc next 3, inc) - 8X  only on the back loop     [total 40] - If bottom piece, no need back loop only 6) (Sc next 2, inc, sc next 2) - 8X     [total 48] 7) (Sc, half double crochet (hdc) next 2, 2 double crochet (dc) in the same stitch, hdc next 2, sc, slip stitch) - 6X After complete the top piece,
