Crochet Christmas Holly Leaf Cherry Headband

To make this headband, you will need a plain metal headband and some green and red yarn for the holly leaf cherry and some other color yarn to cover the metal headband. I used cotton yarn and a 3 mm hook. You can use other hook size too, if you wish. First we start with a magic ring and make 5 single crochet into ring. Continue to make 5 single crochet in each row for as many rows until it can cover the metal headband.

The tutorial video :

The leaf, start with chain 13. Slip stitch on the 2nd chain from hook. Single crochet in the next 2, half double crochet in the next, double crochet in the next, 2 double crochet in the same next stitch, again 2 double crochet in the same next stitch, double crochet in the next, half double crochet in the next 2, single crochet in the next 2, slip stitch in the last stitch.

Now turn and work on the opposite site of the foundation chain. Repeat the above backward, that is single crochet in the next 2, half double crochet in the next 2, double crochet, 2 double crochet in the same next stitch, again 2 double crochet in the same next stitch, double crochet in the next, half double crochet in the next, single crochet in the next 2, slip stitch in the next.

1) Slip stitch on the tip, chain 2, slip stitch in the same stitch, slip stitch in the next 2, single crochet in the next, half double crochet in the next, chain 2, slip stitch in the 2nd chain from the hook of the chain 2, half double crochet in the space between the previous half double crochet and single crochet.

2) Single crochet in the next, slip stitch in the next, double crochet in the next, chain 3, slip stitch in the 2nd stitch from hook, single crochet in the 3rd stitch from hook, double crochet in between the previous double crochet and slip stitch. Then repeat 1) in the next few stitches.

Repeat 1) and 2) and 1) on the opposite side of the leaf too. When reach the tip do a chain 5, and slip stitch on the whole chain to form a leaf stem.

The cherry, start by making a magic ring, chain 2, do 4 half double crochet into the ring and slip stitch to join and you have a berry. Leave a long tail for sewing it on to the leaf.

Peony Flower

This is a big flower compare to the other crochet flowers. You will need cotton yarn, wire and some flower making green tape. I also added a chop stick, or you can use any wood or metal, to hold the flower as it is quite heavy with so many petals and wire. I used 3 different colors for the whole flower. The tutorial video :   The Core Part (use yellow yarn) 1) Chain 9, do 3 single crochet (sc) in the 2nd stitch from the hook, sc in the next, slip stitch (ss) until the end, which you will have 6 ss all in. Chain 9 and repeat the whole thing, all in 8 sets. 2) Chain 10, 3 sc in the 2nd stitch from hook. Sc in the next and ss in the following stitches until the end of the chain, all in 7 ss. Make 9 sets. 3) Chain 11, 3 sc in the 2nd stitch from the hook. Sc in the next and ss in the following stitches until the end of the chain, all in 8 ss. Make 10 sets. 4) Chain 1, do sc on the next 27 stitches on the base. 5) Chain 1, turn the work, [sc in the next 2, do a 2 together (dec)] - 6 sets,

Crochet Mooncake

This is my second crochet mooncake. This pattern is different from my first crochet mooncake. I made two version. One with lace yarn and a 2 mm hook and another with cotton yarn and a 3 mm hook. The lace yarn mooncake is smaller than the cotton yarn mooncake due to the size of the yarn and hook yet both are equally lovely and look quite like the real thing. The tutorial video :  Mooncake (make 2 - top piece and bottom piece) 1) Start with a magic ring. Make 8 single crochet (sc) into the ring     [total 8] 2) Make 2 sc into each stitch (inc)     [total 16] 3) (Sc, inc) - 8X only on the back loop     [total 24] - If bottom piece, no need back loop only 4) (Sc, inc, sc) - 8X     [total 37] 5) (Sc next 3, inc) - 8X  only on the back loop     [total 40] - If bottom piece, no need back loop only 6) (Sc next 2, inc, sc next 2) - 8X     [total 48] 7) (Sc, half double crochet (hdc) next 2, 2 double crochet (dc) in the same stitch, hdc next 2, sc, slip stitch) - 6X After complete the top piece,
