Floral Bolero Jacket

This is a simple bolero jacket made with bamboo yarn. The yarn is extremely soft. It is best to use it for clothes or shawl or any or that sort. Too soft for other things. I used a 3 mm hook as the yarn is quite thin even though it is a 6 ply yarn.

The tutorial video :

The non flower part I made a criss cross double crochet stitch. Firstly, measure your back, the width of your back, to determine the number of stitches on your foundation chain. It has to be in a multiple of 2.

Row 2, chain 2, do a double crochet on the 4th chain from the hook. Next, go back to the 3rd stitch from the hook and do a double crochet. Skip one and do a double crochet on the next stitch. Now do a double crochet on the stitch that we skipped. Continue until the last stitch.

Row 3 until the length that you want, chain 2, turn the work and do the same as above.

Once you have the length that you want, do some chain stitch for the arm hole. Refer to video above for better understanding.

Do the same type of stitch again but this time it is going round the whole piece, including both of the arm hole chain. Do until the length that you want and the last part, I added a row of flower stitch.

First, do double crochet all around. Next row, do single crochet all around. 3rd row we start to build the flowers, which normally is in a multiple of 8. The gap between flowers are about 8 to 9 stitches away. After we had reach the length that we want, we might not get a total number of stitches in multiple of 8. So some of the flowers I made a 9 stitches gap and some with only 8 stitches gap. One glance it really does not make a different.

Start by making double crochet on in the next 4 stitches. On the 4th double crochet we build a flower. Chain 4 and single crochet onto the double crochet stitch. Do another double crochet on the same stitch as the double crochet before. Chain 4 and single crochet onto the double crochet stitch. Repeat until you have 10 of it.

Bend the flower down (refer to video above) Now remove the hook and placed it on the 1st double crochet that has a chain 4 on it. Joint it with the last flower double crochet stich with a slip stitch and chain 1. Continue to do double crochet on the next 8 or 9 stitches and build another flower.

Peony Flower

This is a big flower compare to the other crochet flowers. You will need cotton yarn, wire and some flower making green tape. I also added a chop stick, or you can use any wood or metal, to hold the flower as it is quite heavy with so many petals and wire. I used 3 different colors for the whole flower. The tutorial video :   The Core Part (use yellow yarn) 1) Chain 9, do 3 single crochet (sc) in the 2nd stitch from the hook, sc in the next, slip stitch (ss) until the end, which you will have 6 ss all in. Chain 9 and repeat the whole thing, all in 8 sets. 2) Chain 10, 3 sc in the 2nd stitch from hook. Sc in the next and ss in the following stitches until the end of the chain, all in 7 ss. Make 9 sets. 3) Chain 11, 3 sc in the 2nd stitch from the hook. Sc in the next and ss in the following stitches until the end of the chain, all in 8 ss. Make 10 sets. 4) Chain 1, do sc on the next 27 stitches on the base. 5) Chain 1, turn the work, [sc in the next 2, do a 2 together (dec)] - 6 sets,

Tiny Top Hat

This Top Hat is tiny enough for my amigurumi. Preferable black in color but for tutorial video sake, I did a brown one too. I used cotton yarn and a 3 mm hook. It is very easy to make.  The tutorial video : Top Hat 1) Magic ring with 6 single crochet (sc) into ring [total 6] 2) 2 sc in each, all around [total 12] 3) (Sc in next 3, 2 sc in next stitch) repeat all around [total 15] 4) Sc all around (only on back loop) [total 15] 5) - 8) Sc all around [total 15] 9) 2 sc in each stitch, all around the front loop only [total 30] You can cut yarn now, either you leave a long tail for sewing or weave in the tail.  Hope you make lovely hats for your amigurumi. Crochet Mooncake

This is my second crochet mooncake. This pattern is different from my first crochet mooncake. I made two version. One with lace yarn and a 2 mm hook and another with cotton yarn and a 3 mm hook. The lace yarn mooncake is smaller than the cotton yarn mooncake due to the size of the yarn and hook yet both are equally lovely and look quite like the real thing. The tutorial video :  Mooncake (make 2 - top piece and bottom piece) 1) Start with a magic ring. Make 8 single crochet (sc) into the ring     [total 8] 2) Make 2 sc into each stitch (inc)     [total 16] 3) (Sc, inc) - 8X only on the back loop     [total 24] - If bottom piece, no need back loop only 4) (Sc, inc, sc) - 8X     [total 37] 5) (Sc next 3, inc) - 8X  only on the back loop     [total 40] - If bottom piece, no need back loop only 6) (Sc next 2, inc, sc next 2) - 8X     [total 48] 7) (Sc, half double crochet (hdc) next 2, 2 double crochet (dc) in the same stitch, hdc next 2, sc, slip stitch) - 6X After complete the top piece,
