Elegant Handbag

I crochet several triangle motif and joint them together to create this handbag motif. Later I crochet this motif onto a plastic canvas and add a plain piece of just single crochet for several rows until it can cover the whole side of the bag (refer tutorial video for better understanding). Add 2 bag handle and 2 magnetic button on the top and I have this lovely handbag.

The motif look like this (below), before I turn it into a handbag.

The tutorial video :

As for the triangle shape pattern, start with a magic ring. Chain 3, do 3 double crochet (dc) into ring. Chain 3, do 5 dc into ring, chain 3 and do 5 dc into ring. Chain 3 and make 1 dc into the ring. Slip stich to the top of the chain 3.

Chain 2, do a dc front post on the next stitch, follow by a dc back post in the next, follow by a dc front post. Now you would be at the chain 3 space. Do 2 dc in the chain 3 space, then chain 3 and do 2 dc into the chain 3 space.

Do dc front post on the top of the previous row's dc, follow by a dc back post in the next, and a dc front post in the next and dc back post in the following stitch, the a dc front post in the next.

Now do 2 dc into the chain 3 space, chain 3 and do 3 more dc into the chain 3 space. Repeat until you reach the dc before we slip stitch in the previous row. Do dc front post on top of this stitch and do a dc back post on the chain 2 and slip stitch to the next, and end it leaving a long tail for sewing. Refer to video on how to joint the triangle to form a diamond shape and later the motif above.
