Camouflage Bucket Hat

This is a simple bucket hat in camouflage. The whole hat is made from cotton yarn. 3 different color yarn. You can use other yarns too. The type of yarn and the hook size will determine the size of the hat. The pattern below does not indicate when to change color or to what color. Change the color according to your liking, so long it end up looking like a camouflage.

The tutorial video:

Bucket Hat (use 3 different color yarn to create the camouflage)

1) Make a magic ring and do 6 single crochet (sc) into the ring     [total 6]

2) Do 2 sc into each stitch (inc)     [total 12]

3) (Inc, sc) - repeat all around     [total 18]

4) (Inc, sc next 2) - repeat all around     [total 24]

5) (Inc, sc next 3) - repeat all around     [total 30]

6) Sc next 3, (inc, sc next 4) - repeat all around - now the 4th stitch of this row becomes the 1st stitch           [total 36]

7) Sc next 3, (inc, sc next 5) - repeat all around - now the 4th stitch of this row becomes the 1st stitch           [total 42]

8) Sc next 4, (inc, sc next 6) - repeat all around - now the 5th stitch of this row becomes the 1st stitch           [total 48]

9) Sc next 4, (inc, sc next 7) - repeat all around - now the 5th stitch of this row becomes the 1st stitch           [total 54]

10) Sc next 5, (inc, sc next 8) - repeat all around - now the 6th stitch of this row becomes the 1st stitch         [total 60]

11) Sc next 5, (inc, sc next 9) - repeat all around - now the 6th stitch of this row becomes the 1st stitch          [total 66]

12) Sc next 6, (inc, sc next 10) - repeat all around - now the 7th stitch of this row becomes the 1st stitch        [total 72]

13) Sc next 6, (inc sc next 11) - repeat all around - now the 7th stitch of this row becomes the 1st stitch        [total 78]

14) Sc next 7, (inc, sc next 12) - repeat all around - now the 8th stitch of this row becomes the 1st stitch        [total 84]

Once you have reach the size that you want, normal diameter for an adult size is about 7 inches. But it is best to measure on your head to see if it is too small or big. Once you reach the size you want, we will work 9 to 11 rows of sc all around, or until the hat touches your ear. If you want to make it bigger, continue to do increase in the same manner as above.

Hat Brim

2) Sc all around

3) (inc, sc next 4) - repeat all around

4) - 5) Sc all around

6) (inc, sc next 6)

Peony Flower

This is a big flower compare to the other crochet flowers. You will need cotton yarn, wire and some flower making green tape. I also added a chop stick, or you can use any wood or metal, to hold the flower as it is quite heavy with so many petals and wire. I used 3 different colors for the whole flower. The tutorial video :   The Core Part (use yellow yarn) 1) Chain 9, do 3 single crochet (sc) in the 2nd stitch from the hook, sc in the next, slip stitch (ss) until the end, which you will have 6 ss all in. Chain 9 and repeat the whole thing, all in 8 sets. 2) Chain 10, 3 sc in the 2nd stitch from hook. Sc in the next and ss in the following stitches until the end of the chain, all in 7 ss. Make 9 sets. 3) Chain 11, 3 sc in the 2nd stitch from the hook. Sc in the next and ss in the following stitches until the end of the chain, all in 8 ss. Make 10 sets. 4) Chain 1, do sc on the next 27 stitches on the base. 5) Chain 1, turn the work, [sc in the next 2, do a 2 together (dec)] - 6 sets,

Tiny Top Hat

This Top Hat is tiny enough for my amigurumi. Preferable black in color but for tutorial video sake, I did a brown one too. I used cotton yarn and a 3 mm hook. It is very easy to make.  The tutorial video : Top Hat 1) Magic ring with 6 single crochet (sc) into ring [total 6] 2) 2 sc in each, all around [total 12] 3) (Sc in next 3, 2 sc in next stitch) repeat all around [total 15] 4) Sc all around (only on back loop) [total 15] 5) - 8) Sc all around [total 15] 9) 2 sc in each stitch, all around the front loop only [total 30] You can cut yarn now, either you leave a long tail for sewing or weave in the tail.  Hope you make lovely hats for your amigurumi. Crochet Mooncake

This is my second crochet mooncake. This pattern is different from my first crochet mooncake. I made two version. One with lace yarn and a 2 mm hook and another with cotton yarn and a 3 mm hook. The lace yarn mooncake is smaller than the cotton yarn mooncake due to the size of the yarn and hook yet both are equally lovely and look quite like the real thing. The tutorial video :  Mooncake (make 2 - top piece and bottom piece) 1) Start with a magic ring. Make 8 single crochet (sc) into the ring     [total 8] 2) Make 2 sc into each stitch (inc)     [total 16] 3) (Sc, inc) - 8X only on the back loop     [total 24] - If bottom piece, no need back loop only 4) (Sc, inc, sc) - 8X     [total 37] 5) (Sc next 3, inc) - 8X  only on the back loop     [total 40] - If bottom piece, no need back loop only 6) (Sc next 2, inc, sc next 2) - 8X     [total 48] 7) (Sc, half double crochet (hdc) next 2, 2 double crochet (dc) in the same stitch, hdc next 2, sc, slip stitch) - 6X After complete the top piece,
