Crochet 2D Heart Shape

There are several ways of doing a 2D heart shape. The size of the heart will depend on the yarn that you use and also the hook size. The bigger the hook size the bigger the heart will be.

Heart pattern 1

Make a magic ring, chain 2 and do 3 treble crochet into the ring, follow by 3 double crochet. Chain 1, do a treble crochet, chain 1, do 3 double crochet follow by 3 treble crochet. Chain 2 and slip stitch into the ring. Chain 1, pull tight and cut the yarn. Pull the tail of the magic ring and you will get a heart.

Heart pattern 2

Make a magic ring. Do single crochet into the ring follow by a half double crochet and a double crochet and treble crochet. Chain 2, slip stitch into the ring. Chain 3, do a treble crochet, follow by a double crochet, a half double crochet and a single crochet. Chain 2 and slip stitch to the 1st stitch.

If you want a smaller heart, stop at double crochet instead of treble crochet.

Heart Patter 3

Make a magic ring. Do a single crochet, follow by a half double crochet, double crochet and a treble crochet. Now do a yarn over 3 time treble crochet into the ring. Chain 3 and slip stitch into ring. Chain 4. Do a yarn over 3 treble crochet, follow by a treble crochet and a double crochet, half double crochet and a single crochet. Chain 2, slip stitch to the 1st.

Peony Flower

This is a big flower compare to the other crochet flowers. You will need cotton yarn, wire and some flower making green tape. I also added a chop stick, or you can use any wood or metal, to hold the flower as it is quite heavy with so many petals and wire. I used 3 different colors for the whole flower. The tutorial video : The Core Part (use yellow yarn) 1) Chain 9, do 3 single crochet (sc) in the 2nd stitch from the hook, sc in the next, slip stitch (ss) until the end, which you will have 6 ss all in. Chain 9 and repeat the whole thing, all in 8 sets. 2) Chain 10, 3 sc in the 2nd stitch from hook. Sc in the next and ss in the following stitches until the end of the chain, all in 7 ss. Make 9 sets. 3) Chain 11, 3 sc in the 2nd stitch from the hook. Sc in the next and ss in the following stitches until the end of the chain, all in 8 ss. Make 10 sets. 4) Chain 1, do sc on the next 27 stitches on the base. 5) Chain 1, turn the work, [sc in the next 2, do a 2 together (dec)] - 6 sets,

Tiny Top Hat

This Top Hat is tiny enough for my amigurumi. Preferable black in color but for tutorial video sake, I did a brown one too. I used cotton yarn and a 3 mm hook. It is very easy to make. The tutorial video : Top Hat 1) Magic ring with 6 single crochet (sc) into ring [total 6] 2) 2 sc in each, all around [total 12] 3) (Sc in next 3, 2 sc in next stitch) repeat all around [total 15] 4) Sc all around (only on back loop) [total 15] 5) - 8) Sc all around [total 15] 9) 2 sc in each stitch, all around the front loop only [total 30] You can cut yarn now, either you leave a long tail for sewing or weave in the tail. Crochet Mooncake

This is my second crochet mooncake. This pattern is different from my first crochet mooncake. I made two version. One with lace yarn and a 2 mm hook and another with cotton yarn and a 3 mm hook. The lace yarn mooncake is smaller than the cotton yarn mooncake due to the size of the yarn and hook yet both are equally lovely and look quite like the real thing.
