A simple bucket hat

 This is a simple bucket hat pattern. Starts with half double crochet (hdc) and end with some double crochet (dc) and single crochet (sc). I used a 8 ply cotton yarn with a 6 mm hook.

Top of hat

1) Start with a magic ring. Make 9 hdc into ring. Joint to the 1st stitch with a slip stitch (ss).

2) Chain 1, do 2 hdc into the 1st stitch (inc), (hdc, inc) - repeat till the end and joint with the 1st stitch with a ss.

3) Chain 1, (hdc, inc) - repeat until end of the row and joint with the 1st stitch with a ss.

4) Chain 1, hdc, inc (hdc next 2, inc) - repeat until end of the row and you will have 1 more stitch left, do a hdc in that stitch and ss to the 1st stitch.

5) Chain 1, (hdc next 3, inc) - repeat until end of the row and ss to the 1st stitch.

6) Chain 1, hdc next 2, inc, (hdc next 4, inc) - repeat until end of the row, you will have 2 more stitch left, do hdc in that 2 stitch and joint to the 1st stitch with a ss.

7) Chain 1, (hdc next 5, inc) - repeat until the end and ss to the 1st stitch.

8) Chain 1, hdc next 3, inc (hdc next 6, inc) - repeat until the end and you should have 3 more stitch left. Do hdc in the 3 stitch and ss to the 1st stitch.


The side of the hat

Chain 1, sc all around on the back loop and end with ss on to the 1st stitch. Chain 2, dc all around and end with a ss to the 1st stitch. One row of sc with one row of dc makes 1 set. Now do 3 more sets but no need to sc on the back loop. 


Brim

1) Chain 1, (sc next 4, sc inc) - all on the back loop, repeat until end of the row and ss to the 1st stitch.

2) Chain 2, dc all around and ss to the 1st stitch.

3) Chain 1, (sc next 5, sc inc) - repeat all around and end with a ss to the 1st stitch.

4) Chain 2, dc all around and end with a ss to the 1st stitch.

5)  Chain 1, (sc next 6, sc inc) - repeat all around and end with a ss to the 1st stitch.

Chain 1, do sc backward all around and end with a ss to the 1st.

Mooncake

  Crochet moon cake. You will need cotton yarn, a 3 mm hook and some stuffing. The tutorial video :  Mooncake 1) Magic ring, 8 single crochet (sc) into ring 2) Work only on the front loop : [ 1 slip stitch (sl st), chain (ch) 6 ] 8 times. Get 8 petals. 3) Work only on the back loop : [ 1 sc, ch2 ] all around and sl st to the join the 1st stitch. 4) Ch 1, [ch2, 3 puff st to the ch2 space, ch 2, 1 sc to the next] 8 times. Sl st to join to the 1st st. 5) Ch 3, 1 sc on top of the sc in the previous row (skip all the puff st). Sl st to join to the 1st st. 6) Ch 1, [ 5 double crochet (dc) in the ch3 space, 1 sc to the top of the sc in previous row) 8 times. 7) Sc all around the back loop. Tiny Top Hat

 This Top Hat is tiny enough for my amigurumi. Preferable black in color but for tutorial video sake, I did a brown one too. I used cotton yarn and a 3 mm hook. It is very easy to make.  The tutorial video : Top Hat 1) Magic ring with 6 single crochet (sc) into ring [total 6] 2) 2 sc in each, all around [total 12] 3) (Sc in next 3, 2 sc in next stitch) repeat all around [total 15] 4) Sc all around (only on back loop) [total 15] 5) - 8) Sc all around [total 15] 9) 2 sc in each stitch, all around the front loop only [total 30] You can cut yarn now, either you leave a long tail for sewing or weave in the tail.  Hope you make lovely hats for your amigurumi.
