V Cut Dinner Bag

 The most important part about making a dinner bag, in my opinion is, the color. Choose the right color yarn and the bag turn luxurious. I found this stretchy polypropylene yarn that is black with glittering silver all over. Perfect for making a dinner bag. I choose to make a V shape / cut dinner bag with it. Besides the yarn, I also added a plastic canvas and cloth linen (to cover the plastic canvas in the bag.

Bag Pattern

1) Start by making a magic ring / circle. Do 5 single crochet (sc) in the ring. Do not joint the last stitch to the 1st stitch. Will be making a semi circle. 

2) Chain 1, turn the work. From now on work only on the back loop. Do 2 sc (inc) on the 1st stitch then sc on the next. The middle stitch (the 3rd stitch), do 3 sc in the same stitch. Add a marker on the middle stitch. Do sc in the next and inc on the last stitch.

3) Chain 1, turn the work. Repeat like the above, do inc on the 1st and the last stitch and do 3 sc in the middle stitch (the marker stitch). 

4) Repeat until you get to the length that you want. Normal length is around 24 cm or 10 cm. 

5) Now the 1st and last stitch, do a different pattern. When reach the 3rd last stitch, go to the 2nd last stitch, pull up a yarn and leave it on the hook. Do the same on the last stitch too. Now with 3 yarn on the hook. Put thru all 3. Chain 1 and turn the work. Pull up a yarn in the next stitch and leave it on the hook. Do that to the next stitch too. Now with 3 yarn on the hook, put thru all 3. The rest, repeat like the above (sc on the back loop and 3 sc in the middle stitch). When reach the other end, do the same, like I mentioned in 5)

6) Once you have the length that you want, get a plastic canvas and cut it slightly smaller than the bag. Refer to tutorial video for better understanding. Sew the plastic canvas to the bag using a normal thread and needle. Then cut out a cloth linen about the size of the plastic canvas. Sew the cloth on top to cover the plastic canvas. I sew it with normal needle and thread. 

7) Now fold the bag in two (refer to video), crochet the side of the bag with slip stitch and the bag is done.

Special Kopiah / Songkok / Peci / Cap

 This pattern is lovely on kopiah or some called it songkok or peci or cap. It is easy to crochet and you can make it in just a few hours.  Below is the tutorial video. Kopiah  1) make a magic ring, chain 2, 12 double crochet (dc) in magic ring and seal it with a slip stitch (sl st). 2) chain (ch) 2, 2 dc in each, sl st (total 24 stitches) 3) ch 2, (2dc, dc) repeat till the end, sl st (total 36 stitches) 4) ch 2, (2dc, dc in next 2) repaet till the end, sl st (total 48 stitches) 5) ch 2, (2dc, dc in next 3) repeat till the end, sl st (total 60 stitches) 6) ch 2, (2dc dc in next 4) repeat till the end, sl st (total 72 stitces) Repeat in the same manner until you get the size you want.  The pattern. 1) ch 2, dc all around for 2 rows 2) sc all around for 1 row 3) ch 2, dc all around for 1 row 4) tripple crochet front post on the sc row, 2nd from the right 5) again tripple crochet but 3 stitch away from the first 6) connect to the top row with single crochet to the next ...

Crochet Flower Bag

 This is a simple flower bag made using 2 strand of yarn. It is optional, you can use 1 strand instead. I used a 4 mm hook, since it is a 2 strand yarn. I made this for a toddler, so the bag strap is short.  The tutorial video :  Flower Bag 1) Start with a magic ring, chain 2, make 15 double crochet (dc) into the ring.     2) Chain 2, 2 dc in each stitch (dc inc) .      3) Chain 2, (dc, dc inc) - repeat until the end, cut the yarn.     4) Change color. Chain 1, (sc next 2, skip 2, 5 dc in the same stitch, skip 2, sc next 2, skip 2) - repeat until the end.
