Prada Tote Bag In Purple

Let's crochet a Prada Tote Bag. Use a 2 mm soft robe yarn or some called it macrame cord / robe yarn with a 3 mm hook.

The tutorial video :

Back Panel Of Tote Bag

1) Start with a foundation chain of 49 stitches. Make another chain 5. Do a double crochet on the 6th stitch from hook, chain 1, skip 1, and do a double crochet in the next stitch. Chain 1, skip 1 and double crochet in the next. Repeat until the end of the row and you will get 25 space / boxes. (If you count each space area as a box).

2) At the end of the row, do a double crochet on the 3rd stitch of the chain 4. Then chain 4 and turn the work, skip 1, do a double crochet in the next (which is on top of the previous double crochet), chain 1, skip 1 and do a double crochet in the next. Repeat in this manner until row 24. This makes the back panel of the bag.

Front Panel Of Tote Bag

1) Follow exactly like 1) above. Repeat until row 11.

12) At this row, in the middle box (which is the 13th box), do 1 extra double crochet in the space area of that box. The rest of the boxes do like the above.

13) Now the one box on the left and the right of that filled box in 12), fill it up with 1 extra double crochet in the space area. Now we are building the triangle shape.

14) - 19) Continue to build the triangle, in the same manner as 13 until row 19, where you will have 31 double crochet in the close up part.

20) - 24) Now repeat the row 1 pattern, that is double crochet, chain 1, skip 1 until row 24.

Strap To Join The 2 Panel

1) Make a foundation chain of 5 stitches. Chain 1 and do single crochet on the 2nd stitch from the hook.

Do single crochet all the way until the end of the row, which, all in, you should have 5 stitches. Chain 1, turn the work and do single crochet until the end of the row. Repeat this until row 145. Joint it to the side of the bag by doing 2 single crochet in each space / box (have the panel face you and crochet base on the space area / box)

After you are done with the sides of the bag, continue to do single crochet on the top of the bag, all around.

Optional : You can sew the word PRADA on the front panel, the triangle area, before you crochet the sides of the bag. It is easier this way. The alphabet tutorial is in the earlier post.

Bag Strap

1) Count 5 boxes away from the sides, of the top of the bag,  on top of that 6th box we start to do single crochet. Do single crochet in the next 4 stitches (which takes up the space of 2 boxes). Chain 1, turn the work and continue to do single crochet until end of the row. Repeat in the same manner until you get about 69 rows or 40 cm long. Joint it to the top of the bag, which is also 5 boxes away from the sides.

Do 1 for the back panel too and your bag is ready. Do refer to the tutorial video as I might have typo error or my choice of words might confuse you. The tutorial video is easy to follow even for beginners.

Peony Flower

This is a big flower compare to the other crochet flowers. You will need cotton yarn, wire and some flower making green tape. I also added a chop stick, or you can use any wood or metal, to hold the flower as it is quite heavy with so many petals and wire. I used 3 different colors for the whole flower. The tutorial video :   The Core Part (use yellow yarn) 1) Chain 9, do 3 single crochet (sc) in the 2nd stitch from the hook, sc in the next, slip stitch (ss) until the end, which you will have 6 ss all in. Chain 9 and repeat the whole thing, all in 8 sets. 2) Chain 10, 3 sc in the 2nd stitch from hook. Sc in the next and ss in the following stitches until the end of the chain, all in 7 ss. Make 9 sets. 3) Chain 11, 3 sc in the 2nd stitch from the hook. Sc in the next and ss in the following stitches until the end of the chain, all in 8 ss. Make 10 sets. 4) Chain 1, do sc on the next 27 stitches on the base. 5) Chain 1, turn the work, [sc in the next 2, do a 2 together (dec)] - 6 sets,

Tiny Top Hat

This Top Hat is tiny enough for my amigurumi. Preferable black in color but for tutorial video sake, I did a brown one too. I used cotton yarn and a 3 mm hook. It is very easy to make.  The tutorial video : Top Hat 1) Magic ring with 6 single crochet (sc) into ring [total 6] 2) 2 sc in each, all around [total 12] 3) (Sc in next 3, 2 sc in next stitch) repeat all around [total 15] 4) Sc all around (only on back loop) [total 15] 5) - 8) Sc all around [total 15] 9) 2 sc in each stitch, all around the front loop only [total 30] You can cut yarn now, either you leave a long tail for sewing or weave in the tail.  Hope you make lovely hats for your amigurumi. Crochet Mooncake

This is my second crochet mooncake. This pattern is different from my first crochet mooncake. I made two version. One with lace yarn and a 2 mm hook and another with cotton yarn and a 3 mm hook. The lace yarn mooncake is smaller than the cotton yarn mooncake due to the size of the yarn and hook yet both are equally lovely and look quite like the real thing. The tutorial video :  Mooncake (make 2 - top piece and bottom piece) 1) Start with a magic ring. Make 8 single crochet (sc) into the ring     [total 8] 2) Make 2 sc into each stitch (inc)     [total 16] 3) (Sc, inc) - 8X only on the back loop     [total 24] - If bottom piece, no need back loop only 4) (Sc, inc, sc) - 8X     [total 37] 5) (Sc next 3, inc) - 8X  only on the back loop     [total 40] - If bottom piece, no need back loop only 6) (Sc next 2, inc, sc next 2) - 8X     [total 48] 7) (Sc, half double crochet (hdc) next 2, 2 double crochet (dc) in the same stitch, hdc next 2, sc, slip stitch) - 6X After complete the top piece,
