This lovely swan, I used short coral velvet yarn and a 3.5 mm hook. It is not easy to crochet as you would not be able to see the stitches. This is not a project for beginners. If you use this same pattern but crochet with cotton yarn, it will not turn out right. If you had work with fluffy yarn or velvet yarn before, this should be a piece of cake for you.

Swan Body And Neck
1) Chain 31, start from the 2nd stitch from the hook, start to do single crochet (sc) until the end of the row.
2)-24) Chain 1, turn, sc next 30.
25) Fold the rectangle piece into a circular / cylinder and joint it with a slip stitch (only on the last row, refer to tutorial video), chain 2 and do double crochet (dc) in the next 29 stitch. (Now we are forming the neck)
26) Chain 1, sc in the same stitch, do a 2together (dec) for 7 sets, sc in the next 2, dec for 7 sets [total 17]
27) - 31) Sc all around [total 17]
32) (Sc next 4, dec) - 2X, sc next 3, (dec) - 2X [total 14]
33) - 37) Sc all around [total 14]
38) Sc, dec, sc next 3, dec, sc next 3, dec, sc [total 11]
39) - 43) Sc all around [total 11]
44) Sc next 2, dec, sc next 3, dec, sc next 2 [total 9]
45) - 54) Sc all around [total 9]
Leave a tail, for sewing and cut yarn.
Head
1) Start with a magic ring, do 3 sc into the ring [total 3]
2) Do 2 sc into a stitch (inc) - 2X, sc [total 5]
3) Inc - 2X, sc, inc - 2X [total 9]
4) Inc all around [total 18]
5) - 7) Sc all around [total 18]
8) Dec [total 9]
Cut the yarn.
Beak
1) Use red yarn. Start with a magic ring, chain 2, do 4 dc into the ring, joint it together with a slip stitch. [total 5]
2) Use black yarn. Do dc inc all around [total 10]
3) Chain 1, turn the work and do sc in the next 2 stitch, chain 1 and turn and do sc next 2 and leave a tail and cut yarn. Now do the same on the opposite side (refer to tutorial video).
Tail
Go to the opposite end of the rectangle piece, Start with dec on the 1st two stitches, turn the 1st 2 stitches into one. Sc until you have last 2 stitch left, do dec. Chain 1 and turn the work. Start with dec, then sc until you have 2 more stitch left. Do a 2together on that last 2 stitch. Repeat in the same manner until the last row when you have only 1 stitch left. (refer to video).
Extension Tail (Optional)
1) Start with a magic ring. Do sc, hdc, dc, treble crochet (tc) dc, hdc, sc.
2) Chain 1, turn the work, slip stitch to the next 2, hdc, dc, tc, dc, hdc, slip stitch.
3) Slip stitch till almost the top, chain 3, slip stitch on the 2nd from the hook and also the last stitch. Slip stitch to the main tail, chain 4, slip stitch down the chain 4, slip stitch to the tail and chain 3 and slip stitch down the chain 3 and slip stitch to the tail. leave a tail and cut yarn. Sew it on to the main tail. (refer to video).
Swan Body
1) Start from the tail part, chain 4, skip one, dc in the next, chain 1, skip one and dc in the next, do until the other side of the tail (refer to the video).
2) Chain 1, turn, do dc into the space area, do a picot (chain 4 or 3 picot) and do another dc into the same space area. Repeat until the end. (refer to video).
Wings
1) Chain 8, sc, hdc, dc, tc, dc, hdc, sc.
2) Chain 1, sc inc, sc next 2, sc inc, sc next 2, sc inc.
3) Now do the "fingers". Either you chain 5 or 6 or 7 or 8 or 9, then slip stitch down the chain and joint with the main wing part with a slip stitch then again do another finger.
You can either do 2 or 3 sets of wings for one side of the swan. (refer to video).
