Laptop Bag Named Kim

This is a simple laptop bag made using 2mm robe yarn and a 3.5 mm hook. Robe yarn are more firm and can hold more weight.

Bag Pattern

I start with a chain 43, then chain 5. On the 6th stitch from the hook, do a double crochet. Chain one, skip one and do a double crochet. Repeat until the end of the row. End the row with a double crochet on the last stitch, chain 4, turn the work and repeat the above pattern. Build these blocks until it come to the length that you want.

Now for the front panel, I build 15 blocks and on the 16th to the 21th row, I do the chain one, skip one and double crochet for 3 sets then I do double crochet on each stitch without skipping any. The last few stitches, build 3 blocks of the chain 1, skip one and double crochet. This are optional. You can repeat this until the length that you want and continue again with the above pattern.

For the side of the bag, do a chain 6, work on the bump side, do single crochet until the end of the row. Then chain 1, turn the work and do single crochet until the end of the row. Continue until you come to the length that you want. (refer to video for better understanding).

For the bag strap, go to the spot on the top of the bag that you want the strap to start, do 5 single crochet on the few stitches. Chain 1, turn the work and do single crochet until the end of the row and repeat until it come to the length that you want, then single crochet it on to the bag. (refer to tutorial video).

Peony Flower

This is a big flower compare to the other crochet flowers. You will need cotton yarn, wire and some flower making green tape. I also added a chop stick, or you can use any wood or metal, to hold the flower as it is quite heavy with so many petals and wire. I used 3 different colors for the whole flower. The tutorial video :   The Core Part (use yellow yarn) 1) Chain 9, do 3 single crochet (sc) in the 2nd stitch from the hook, sc in the next, slip stitch (ss) until the end, which you will have 6 ss all in. Chain 9 and repeat the whole thing, all in 8 sets. 2) Chain 10, 3 sc in the 2nd stitch from hook. Sc in the next and ss in the following stitches until the end of the chain, all in 7 ss. Make 9 sets. 3) Chain 11, 3 sc in the 2nd stitch from the hook. Sc in the next and ss in the following stitches until the end of the chain, all in 8 ss. Make 10 sets. 4) Chain 1, do sc on the next 27 stitches on the base. 5) Chain 1, turn the work, [sc in the next 2, do a 2 together (dec)] - 6 sets,

Tiny Top Hat

This Top Hat is tiny enough for my amigurumi. Preferable black in color but for tutorial video sake, I did a brown one too. I used cotton yarn and a 3 mm hook. It is very easy to make.  The tutorial video : Top Hat 1) Magic ring with 6 single crochet (sc) into ring [total 6] 2) 2 sc in each, all around [total 12] 3) (Sc in next 3, 2 sc in next stitch) repeat all around [total 15] 4) Sc all around (only on back loop) [total 15] 5) - 8) Sc all around [total 15] 9) 2 sc in each stitch, all around the front loop only [total 30] You can cut yarn now, either you leave a long tail for sewing or weave in the tail.  Hope you make lovely hats for your amigurumi. Crochet Mooncake

This is my second crochet mooncake. This pattern is different from my first crochet mooncake. I made two version. One with lace yarn and a 2 mm hook and another with cotton yarn and a 3 mm hook. The lace yarn mooncake is smaller than the cotton yarn mooncake due to the size of the yarn and hook yet both are equally lovely and look quite like the real thing. The tutorial video :  Mooncake (make 2 - top piece and bottom piece) 1) Start with a magic ring. Make 8 single crochet (sc) into the ring     [total 8] 2) Make 2 sc into each stitch (inc)     [total 16] 3) (Sc, inc) - 8X only on the back loop     [total 24] - If bottom piece, no need back loop only 4) (Sc, inc, sc) - 8X     [total 37] 5) (Sc next 3, inc) - 8X  only on the back loop     [total 40] - If bottom piece, no need back loop only 6) (Sc next 2, inc, sc next 2) - 8X     [total 48] 7) (Sc, half double crochet (hdc) next 2, 2 double crochet (dc) in the same stitch, hdc next 2, sc, slip stitch) - 6X After complete the top piece,
