Small Pots Of Sunflower

This particular post is just about the square pot. The mini sunflower and the leaf are in the earlier post. They are all made with cotton yarn. These would make a lovely gift and it is easy to do.

The Pot Pattern

1) Make a magic ring / circle. Do 8 single crochet (sc) into the ring [total 8]

2) ( Sc, 3 sc into the next stitch) - repeat until the end. Every 3sc in the same stitch, add a marker in the middle stitch to mark the corner of the square. [total 16]

3) Do a sc in each stitch but do 3 sc on the marker stitch. Repeat until the end. Continue to build the square until you come to the size that you want.

4) Do sc only on the back loop.

5) Do sc all around until you come to the length that you want.

The Soil Pattern

1) Build a square piece that is the same size as the base of the pot. Leave a long tail and cut yarn

Sew those flowers and leaves on the soil and later sew the soil to the pot and you will have a lovely pot of flower plant. Refer to the tutorial video for better understanding. It is easy to follow, even for beginners. Give it a try.

Special Kopiah / Songkok / Peci / Cap

This pattern is lovely on kopiah or some called it songkok or peci or cap. It is easy to crochet and you can make it in just a few hours. Below is the tutorial video. Kopiah 1) make a magic ring, chain 2, 12 double crochet (dc) in magic ring and seal it with a slip stitch (sl st). 2) chain (ch) 2, 2 dc in each, sl st (total 24 stitches) 3) ch 2, (2dc, dc) repeat till the end, sl st (total 36 stitches) 4) ch 2, (2dc, dc in next 2) repaet till the end, sl st (total 48 stitches) 5) ch 2, (2dc, dc in next 3) repeat till the end, sl st (total 60 stitches) 6) ch 2, (2dc dc in next 4) repeat till the end, sl st (total 72 stitces) Repeat in the same manner until you get the size you want. The pattern. 1) ch 2, dc all around for 2 rows 2) sc all around for 1 row 3) ch 2, dc all around for 1 row 4) tripple crochet front post on the sc row, 2nd from the right 5) again tripple crochet but 3 stitch away from the first 6) connect to the top row with single crochet to the next ...

Tiny Top Hat

This Top Hat is tiny enough for my amigurumi. Preferable black in color but for tutorial video sake, I did a brown one too. I used cotton yarn and a 3 mm hook. It is very easy to make. The tutorial video : Top Hat 1) Magic ring with 6 single crochet (sc) into ring [total 6] 2) 2 sc in each, all around [total 12] 3) (Sc in next 3, 2 sc in next stitch) repeat all around [total 15] 4) Sc all around (only on back loop) [total 15] 5) - 8) Sc all around [total 15] 9) 2 sc in each stitch, all around the front loop only [total 30] You can cut yarn now, either you leave a long tail for sewing or weave in the tail. Valentine Couple Cats

This pair of cats are made using cotton yarn and a 3.5 mm hook. You will need some stuffing and a safety nose. If you do not have any, you can sew the nose with some yarn. It stands at 11 inches tall and about 4 inches wide. I would say that it is quite a big cat.
