Simple Head Band For Newbies

If you are new to crochet and wish to start, try this out. This head band is made entirely on single crochet. You can use any hook size and any type of yarn but I would recommend that you use cotton yarn for a start as it is soft and easy to work with.  The tutorial video : Start by making the width of the head band. For children, start with a foundation chain of 10 stitches and adult, 15 stitches. You can make more if you wish. Chain 1 more and turn your work. Make 1 single crochet on the 2nd stitch from hook on the foundation chain. Continue to single crochet on all the stitch on the foundation chain. When reach the end, chain 1 and turn your work and continue to do single crochet all around.  Once you have your desire length, you can sew the end together like how I did in the tutorial video. Just for guide, the length of the band for young children is 11 inches to 17 inches. For toddler is around 18 to 19 inches and adults normally around 22 inches.  You can measure your head circu

3 Colour Rabbit

This rabbit is almost the size of a real rabbit, made using a 3 mm hook. I made it 3 colors but the written pattern will only show the number of stitches but will not show when I change color or to what color. The changing of color is totally up to you. This will made every rabbit unique. Give it a try. Let your imagination go wild.  The tutorial video : The Body 1) magic ring, chain 1, 6 single crochet (sc) in ring [total 6] 2) 2 sc in each stitch (increase) [total 12] 3){sc in next 1, inc} 6 times [total 18] 4){sc in next 2, inc} 6 times [total 24] 5){sc in next 3, inc} 6 times [total 30] 6) sc in next 1, {sc in next 4, inc} 5 time, sc in next 3, inc [total 36] 7){sc in next 5, inc} 6 times [total 42] 8) sc in next 2, {sc in next 6, inc} 5 times, sc in next 4, inc [total 48] 9) - 12) sc all around [total 48] 13) sc in next 20, inc, sc in next 8, inc, sc in next 8, inc, sc in next 9 [total 51] 14) - 15) sc all around [total 51] 16) sc in next 21, inc, sc in next 9, inc, sc in next 9,

Succulent Plant in a ball of soil

This succulent plants are easy to make. I also did a round ball to sew the plants to, so that I can place it in any pots or it can just stand on it's own. You can customized the size of the plant by making more foundation chain at the start.  The tutorial video :  I used a 4mm hook. You can chain 21 (can't make any shorter than this) or 41 or 51 as the foundation chain. You can make more than that but I prefer the plant to be small.  1) single crochet (sc) on the 2nd stitch from hook, chain 2 (ch 2), skip 1, sc, ch 2, skip 1, sc, ch 2 - repeat till the end.  2) ch 2, turn the work, 2 double crochet (dc), in the chain space, ch 2, 2 dc in the same chain space, slip stitch - this makes 1 petal 3) ch 1, and 2 dc in the next chain space, ch 2, 2 dc in the same chain space, slip stitch - continue in the same manner for about three quarter  4) The balance quarter of the foundation chain, half of it we are going to do the same manner as above but using half double crochet instead. 5)

This tear drop / water drop hanging basket are made with t-shirt yarn using a 6mm hook. You can use these basket to store small stationaries or even place a pot in it. You can customized one to fit your pot or the things that you want to put in it. If you have extra yarn and not sure what to do with it, give this  a try.  The tutorial video : Basket 1) magic ring, 6 single crochet (sc) into ring  2) 2 sc in each (increase)  3) [sc, increase] - repeat all around If you want to make a bigger basket, do increase in the next few rows (e.g [sc in next 2, inc] - repeat all around, and the following row [sc in the next 3, inc] - repeat all around) or using a smaller hook or bigger hook will change it size too.  4) 3 sc in one (place a maker in the middle stitch - 2nd stitch) and sc all around. 5) when reach the marker, 3 sc in one and the rest sc all around. Continue in this manner until you come to your desire width and height. Chain 10 or more at the 3sc spot and joint back in the next sti

Sheep in popcorn stitch

These sheep are just so cute. It would make a fun stress ball. Made these with 5 ply cotton yarn and a 3.5mm hook. You would need stuffing, and safety eyes and nose. You can also sew the eyes and nose, if you do not have safety eyes and nose. Will need more yarn for this project because you need 6 double crochet to make one popcorn stitch.  The tutorial video : The body 1) make a magic ring, 6 single crochet (sc) into the ring (total 6) 2) chain 3, make 6 double crochet (dc) in one stitch, remove hook and place hook on the 5th loop of the dc and hook it to the chain that we removed and yarn over and pull thru all to make one popcorn. So in this row make 6 popcorn (one in each stitch), (total 6) 3) chain 3, make 2 popcorn in one, like an increase (total 12) 4) chain 3, [1 popcorn, 1popcorn increase] make 6 time (total 18) 5) - 10) chain 3, 1 popcorn all around (total 18) 11) chain 3, [1popcorn, 1 popcorn 2 together] make 6 times (total 12) 12) chain 3, [popcorn 2 together] make 6 times
