Auntie Nat's Crochet (Free Crochet Pattern)

 Crochet plum blossom looks like cherry blossom. Even the actual flower, both look quite alike. I used lace yarn and a 1.5 mm hook. For tutorial sake, I used cotton yarn and a 3.5 mm hook. Lace yarn make the flower more realistic.  The tutorial video :  Plum Blossom 1) Magic ring, 6 single crochet (sc) into ring.  2) Sc all around for 2 rows 3) Increase (do 2 sc in  each stitch) all around and joint with the 1st with a slip stitch 4) Turn the work, sc on the front loop of the first 2 stitch 5) Turn the work, do increase 6) Turn the work, chain 1, do sc and a double crochet (dc) in the same stitch, do a dc and a treble crochet (tc) in the same next stitch, do a tc and a dc in the next same stitch, do a dc and a sc in the last stitch, slip stitch to the bottom oh that stitch. (Refer to video for better understanding). This is how we make 1 petal, so continue in the same pattern and make 5 more petals. Which means 2 stitch makes 1 petal.  This is a simple, smaller than palm size Chinese New Year deco. Just crochet a foundation chain with the length of your choice. Do single crochet on each row till it becomes a square. I did chain 11 and have 10 single crochet in each row. I did about 10 rows and it looks squarish. The use a needle and sew the Chinese word on it, freestyle.  As per my customer's request, a customized palm size CJ7. A Chinese movie character. This is the nearest I can get. Glad that she likes it. I used cotton yarn of yellow and green, some wire for the antenna that is on the head, a pair of safety eyes and a bit of stuffing. I used a 3mm hook.  This orchid is made using lace yarn and a 1.75 mm hook. There are 4 parts of it. The back petal, which is the smaller petal, I made it in a 3 in 1 (they are link together as 1). Then made 2 bigger petals. A middle part of the flower and some leaves. The tutorial video :   Smaller Petal 1) Make a magic ring, chain 15, from the 2nd chain from hook, do 14 single crochet (sc). Then sc into ring. This makes 1 petal. Now do 2 more (repeat the above). All in, there should be 3 petal in this magic ring. 2) Work our way up a petal. Single crochet (sc) in the next, half double crochet (hdc) in the next 2, double crochet (dc) in the next 2, treble crochet (tc) in the next 4, dc in the next 2, hdc in the next 2, sc in the next 1. Do 1 sc at the top and then we work our way down in the same manner (sc next 1, hdc next 2, dc next 2, tc next 4, dc next 2, hdc next 2, sc next 1). 3) Sc all around with a wire attached.  This is a simple bag with a simple tapestry pattern. You can create one simple pattern on your own on a piece of paper too. This particular bag I used a bag base and t-shirt yarn.  The tutorial video :  First I crochet the t-shirt yarn onto the bag base with a smaller hook. One that can go thru the hole on the base board. After one round of single crochet around the bag base, for the 2nd row, use a 8 mm hook. I used 2 color yarn, one blue t-shirt yarn and one multicolor t-shirt yarn.  The whole bag I used waistcoat single crochet where I place the hook into the 'v' shape. Check out the tutorial video for better understanding. The tapestry pattern is just some simple pattern I created myself.  The Messy Bun Beanie is very easy to make. You can get one done in just a couple of hours, even for beginners. This would make a lovely Christmas gift.  The tutorial video :   I used cotton yarn and a 4 mm hook. I also added some eye lashes yarn to make it fluffy at the edge.  1) Chain 10, single crochet (sc) in the next 9 stitches starting from the 2nd stitch from the hook. 2) Chain 1, turn the work and do sc on the back loop in the next 9 stitches. Repeat the same for about 50 rows. Bring it together and measure it on the head and see if it fits. It is a bit stretchable, so stretch it when measuring on the head. If it does not fit, do few more rows. 3) Joint it with a slip stich. 4) Turn work 90 degree and work our way up with puff stitch. 5) Do single crochet all around and add about 5 to 6 increases (2 sc in one stitch). In the end, make sure the total number of stitches is in even number. End with a slip stitch. 6) Chain 1, make a puff stitch ( pull up 4 yarn and put thru all 5 y
