Auntie Nat's Crochet (Free Crochet Pattern)

 This is about crocheting the letter "R" as in the word Prada. I used lace yarn and a 2 mm hook.  The tutorial video:  The Letter "R" 1) Start with a foundation chain of 15. Slip stitch to the 11th stitch from hook. Turn the work and chain 6. Single crochet on the 2nd stitch from hook. Single crochet in the next 4 stitch.  2) Now do 2 single crochet into the loop (the space area) and 5 half double crochet into the loop (the space area). 3) Slip stitch to the next stitch. Chain 2. Single crochet in the same stitch. Then do single crochet in the next 7 stitch and you get the letter "R" as in Prada.    Refer to the tutorial video for better understanding. If you want to make it look like the real thing, use black lace yarn and a 2 mm hook.  The tutorial video :  The letter "P" 1) Start with a foundation chain of 15 stitches. Slip stitch to the 11th stitch from hook.  2) Turn the work and slip stitch on the next stitch (the one that forms the loop for the letter 'p') 3) Into the loop, do 2 single crochet follow by 5 half double crochet and 2 single crochet.  This particular post is about the body of the dragon. The head is in the earlier post. I used cotton yarn and a 3 mm hook.  The tutorial video :  Body 1) Start by making the legs. Start with a magic circle.  This is a simple puff stitch angpau sling bag. You can use it as a handphone bag too. This time round, I added a dragon head in front, since it will be a dragon year, in the coming Chinese New Year. I used a 8 ply cotton yarn and a 5 mm hook.  The tutorial video :  Bag Pattern 1) I start by making a foundation chain of 17. Chain 1 and go to the 2nd stitch from the hook and do single crochet (sc). Do 1 sc in each stitch, repeat until the end of the row. All in 15 sc. In the last stitch, do 3 sc in the same stitch. By now you would have turn your work. Now do sc in each stitch until the end of the row, in which you will have 15 stitches. In the last stitch, do 3 sc in that stitch.  This is a simple bag strap. I used a 8 ply cotton yarn and a 5 mm hook. You can use just about any type of yarn and hook size.  The tutorial video :  I start with a foundation chain of 5. Then, just like Tunisian stitch, pull up a loop from the 2nd stitch from the hook and leave the yarn on the hook. Do the same on the next three stitches until you have 5 loop on your hook.  Now yarn over and put thru one, then yarn over and put thru 1, then yarn over and put thru 4, then yarn over and put thru 1 and yarn over and put thru 2. That completes row 2,  Next row, go to the space area and yarn over and and leave the yarn on the hook. Next, yarn over from the next stitch and leave it on the hook.  During Chinese Festival, there will be Dragon Dance. This is the head of the 'Dragon Dance'. This pattern is just the head of the dragon. The tutorial video :  Big Horn 1) Start with a magic circle.  This pattern I used cotton yarn. You can use a multicolor yarn or 2 different color yarn or maybe just one color. I used a 5 mm hook since I am using 5 ply cotton yarn.  I start with a chain 180, that is from the front panel all the way to the back panel. The 2nd row, chain 2, do a double crochet (dc) on the 4th chain from the hook. Chain 2 and do a dc in the same stitch. Skip 2 and do a dc on the next and chain 2 follow by a dc on the same stitch. Repeat until the end.  Once on the next row, chain 3 and do a dc in the chain space, chain 2 and dc in the same chain space. Do dc in the next chain space, chain 2 and dc in the same. Repeat until the end. Build a few more rows, until it can cover half of your body.  By now fold the piece in half and see where you neck line should be.
