Easter Chicken

 This time round, instead of bunny, I am making Easter Chicken. The big easter egg is in the earlier post. The assembling of the hair, beak, eyes and all, I did before I add stuffing in the head. Please refer to the tutorial video for guidance. The tutorial video :  Chicken Head (I sew the hair, beak and add eyes when I am at row 20, before I add stuffing) 1) Start with a magic circle / ring. Ribbon Bow

 This is a simple ribbon bow, crochet version. You can use just about any type of yarn. I used cotton yarn for this ribbon bow.  The tutorial video :   Ribbon Bow Pattern - Lower Part Of The Bow Start with a chain 19. On the 2nd stitch from the hook do slip stitch. Do single crochet on the next stitch, a half double crochet on the next, double crochet on the next 3 stitches, half double crochet on the next, single crochet on the next and slip stitch on the next stitch. By now you will be in the middle of the chain 19. Repeat the above again until the end of the chain. Now chain 1, and do slip stitch until the end of the row. Chain 1 again and do slip stitch on the bottom edge. Technically is slip stitch all around the whole pattern with a chain 1 on each corner. You can refer to the tutorial video for reference.  Ribbon Bow Pattern - Top Part Of The Bow Start with a chain 24. Do a slip stitch to joint both ends. Easter Egg, Patch And Line

 These easter eggs are quite big. I used cotton yarn. One of it, I intend to make it polka dot but it turns out like patch work and the other, has lines of colors. The pattern given is for the egg. As for how to change color or when to change color, you can refer to the tutorial video. I normally change color as at when I feel like it and not really count my stitches as to when I should change color, I mean for these eggs. As for the ribbon bow, it is in another post. Sun Hat With A Bow

 This is a simple Sun Hat with a bow. I used a multicolor 8 ply cotton yarn and a 5 mm hook.  The tutorial video :  Hat Pattern 1) Start with a magic circle / ring. Laptop Bag Named Kim

 This is a simple laptop bag made using 2mm robe yarn and a 3.5 mm hook. Robe yarn are more firm and can hold more weight. The tutorial video :  Bag Pattern I start with a chain 43, then chain 5. On the 6th stitch from the hook, do a double crochet. Chain one, skip one and do a double crochet. Repeat until the end of the row. End the row with a double crochet on the last stitch, chain 4, turn the work and repeat the above pattern. Build these blocks until it come to the length that you want.  Now for the front panel, I build 15 blocks and on the 16th to the 21th row, I do the chain one, skip one and double crochet for 3 sets then I do double crochet on each stitch without skipping any. The last few stitches, build 3 blocks of the chain 1, skip one and double crochet. This are optional. You can repeat this until the length that you want and continue again with the above pattern. For the side of the bag, do a chain 6, work on the bump side, do single crochet until the end of the row. The

Crochet Letter "M"

 This letter "M", I crochet using cotton yarn. You can use just about any yarn. the type of yarn and hook size will make the letter either slightly smaller or bigger.  The tutorial video :  Crochet Pattern 1) Start with a chain 26, work on the bump side. Do single crochet, starting from the 2nd stitch from the hook, in the next 5 stitches. 2) Do a single crochet in the next stitch, chain 2, do a single crochet in the same stitch. 3) Slip stitch in the next 4 stitches. Do a 2 together in the next stitch. Do slip stitch in the next 4 stitches.  4) Do a single crochet in the next, chain 2, do a single crochet in the same stitch.  5) Do single crochet in the next 6 stitches. Crochet Letter "I"

 This letter "I" I crochet using cotton yarn. The size of the letter depends on the type of yarn you use and the hook size. It will turn out either slightly smaller or bigger. The tutorial video :  Crochet Pattern 1) Chain 9, work on the bump size. Single crochet on the 2nd stitch from the hook. 2) Chain 3, do a 2together on the 2nd and 3rd stitch from the hook. 3) Single crochet on the 7th stitch of the earlier chain 9 stitch. 4) Do single crochet in the next 5 stitches, working on the bump side. 5) Chain 2, single crochet on the bump side, 2nd stitch from the hook. 6) Single crochet on the remaining stitch of the earlier chain 9. Crochet Letter "K"

 This is a letter "K", I crochet using cotton yarn. The letter will be slightly bigger or smaller depending on your hook size and yarn type. The tutorial video :  Crochet Pattern 1) Chain 9, on the bump side, 2nd stitch from the hook, do single crochet in the next 4 stitches. 2) Slip stitch in the next stitch.  3) Chain 5, on the bump side, 2nd stitch from the hook, do single crochet in the next 4 stitches. 4) Slip stitch on the earlier slip stitch spot. 5) Chain 5, on the bump side, 2nd stitch from the hook, do single crochet in the next 4 stitches. 6) Slip stitch on the previous slip stitch spot.
